Darkness
Darkness is a large preadator.
It preys on the youth and the weak.
The children imagine monsters,
While the frail hold them in their minds.
The young ones cover their faces,
Whilst the weak conceal their problems.
Metaphorical, physical,
Darkness can come in two forms.
Both lead to insanity,
Gnawing at your brain 'til you're gone.
Nightlights will not protects you, no
Neither will pills and physicians.
So leave the lights on through the night,
Or try to fall asleep before.
Though it's useless, for it will come.
It'll swallow your mind right up.
It is inescapable-
Darkness is a large predator.

I was just sitting in my room one day, watching spoken word poems, when the idea came to mind. It was so sudden that I exited the video, that was very intriguing, for the record, and opened up Google Docs. I was typing like a mad(wo)man, frantically trying to get this idea down. When I was finished, the screen looked like a mess of words, almost as unreadable as hieroglyphs. I (somehow) edited it and was on my way.
