The War Inside

the fight inside
is growing strong
so much to hide
too heavy to hold
I need some of the weight
off my shoulders
I need my mind
to escape this battle
this battle against myself
it is a war I shall not lose
but can never win
the weapons cut
the words bruise
and I am left helpless
crying for a hand
a hand to hold
I'm all alone
fighting this war
this war against myself.
