Or Else it’s Just Murder
You have to eat the meat
Or else it’s just murder
Watching the blood drip from the table
Is somewhat calming
My hands are covered in the warm crimson substance
As the skin of my last catch snaps like a rubber band
Their muscle is a slice of warm apple pie
And my knife cuts through it almost effortlessly
Dead blue eyes watch me as I work
The life in them is long gone but they still watch
As if still pleading for me to stop
They don’t understand my work
The don’t understand the beauty
Their lives had no meaning before they met me
They sinned, they killed, they lavished in wealth
But my work gives their lives true value
I bring them worth
I prepare them
I honor them
But I have to eat the meat
Or else it’s just murder
