Understanding
I watch as my life passes by
I wake up,
go to school,
study vigorously,
yet still manage to procrastinate.
My best work is subpar.
Anxiety ridden nights and blank-faced days.
Running through my classes trying to succeed.
What is learning?
All I know is memorizing.
One sunny day I walk into the Black Box.
My new teacher greets us and we all lighten up.
The next months blur together,
every day I await 5th period.
I crave the knowledge I gain from every single second I am in that Black Box.
It is an understanding I have never experienced yet I know I will never forget it.
