I'm trying to call, i'm tired of being on hold,

I'm tired of being put out in the cold.

I break and I fall this game is getting old.

No need to stand tall, it's done,

Your soul has been sold.

You can't go back,

This was your decision,

They have what you lack,

You should've rethought mission,

Your heart has gone black,

Welcome to the ice cold division.

It wasn't fair,

You left me alone and scared,

You'd run your fingers through my hair,

I could've sworn you cared,

I felt my heart begin to tear,

But now the pain has been shared.

You walked all night,

Till you came to the ledge,

You couldn't keep up the fight,

You stood on the edge,

The last thing you saw was a face of fright,

You didnt see the light.

I watched as you fell,

I tried to grab your hand,

I even yelled,

But you were in another land,

Not heven or hell.

I stood by your grave,

And remebered your face,

Before the drugs had made you their slave,

You were gone from this world without a trace,

Nothing to show for the life you gave.

The author's comments:

This poem is about a close friend or family member that began abusing drugs and lost who they once where. When someone starts taking drugs it can completley alter the good and kind person they used to be. Drug abuse effects not only yourself but others around you. A temporary high will never be worth the lifetime of regret.
