Fragile

We've all got scars.

You can cover them up,

You can hide them,

but they're still there.

Some run deeper than others.

A girl like me

is supposed to be

a flawless porcelain.

Yet, all I am is cracked and chipped.

How can I be anything but nice

when I have felt the weight of cruelty?

I am but a fragile, crippled toy.

The best part about poetry is that it allows you to take your darkest memories and turn them into something worthwhile that someone else can relate to. I wrote this piece about my backround. I had a semi-bad home life for a while and then my dad died. I am top in school and good at other things and soemone was talking to me and we got on a subject and he said, "I thouhgt you were closer to perfect, a goog girl. this is the poem that came after.
