Being Black At BHS

Wake up at 630 to catch the bus
Put on your oversized shirt with a wifebeater under, new lebrons, and a hoodie
Walk in Earlier than everyone else
Yell down the whole hallway when you see your friends
Dap up your friends and talk about what the rachet girls are wearing
Publicly humiliate your friends starting a “rash circle”
Be loud enough with only 4 people that everyone hears you
But not too loud that the deans have to come again
Stand obnoxiously in the middle of the hallway
Show up late to class with the squad
Be heard saying the N word a few times
Never say sorry unless its the Headmaster, your dean, or a teacher
Find your “Boys” in between blocks
Sit with only your race in the cafeteria
Sit down and talk about Jordans or the being the next MJ
Never be too smart in each class
Start a fight
Claim every teacher is racist and that is why you are failing
Bring the new dances to the “community”
Talk about songs no one has ever heard of
Keep your side chick away from your main one
Think twice before saying anything because you will get flamed
Post everything that happens during your day on snapchat
Stay late after school to play basketball

Growing Older
Starts with being born

Eating from pasta to corn
Saying goo goo gah gah
To drinking milk out of your bah bah
Then comes first year of school
Where some kids still might droll
You learn your colors and ABC’s
And the other basics like your  123’s
Eventually into middle school where you get grades
Experimented so much to attempted having braids
You might be the clown in almost every class
But you end with A’s and B’s which causes you to pass
Then you are in the big place, BHS
Where you have friends that range from acting to playing chess
Go through four years of this “jail”
Where lots of people pass and some fail
Finally you graduate to go the places with frats
You might be in a room that has bats or rats
Struggle four years through that to get a job
Where your working partner is named Bob
You end up meeting a nice women and have 2 kids
And they like hats so you have to go to LIDS
They grow old and go through the same routine
When you are older you can’t decide to move to FL or stay in the Bean
End your life living in a retirement house
Where it’s so quiet you can hear the sounds of a mouse
All that years of life you could wiser or bolder
All those years of experience that requires you to grow older
