Eyes shoot open
Shades pop up
crashing into the ceiling
as the sunshine pours in
forming a path of light.
Cold hands press
onto the glossy windows, causing
condensed clouds of fog,
to be permanently printed on.
There lays a sheet
of creamy snow.
Frosting over the windowsill
dancing down upon it.
Pancakes flop onto plates
topped with gooey syrup
as they’re inhaled
by the tiny teeth
to fit in more fun.
Squealing and clapping
muffle the buckling
of snowsuits and boots,
as hot cocoa stirs
and snowmen come to life.
