I live for

June 11, 2015

I am in the summer season of my 17th year.
I live for sailing,
For the sting of salt water spraying my face,
The early morning stretching out on the horizon of the yacht clubs,
The continuous practice of a simple task until perfection is reached.

I live for my friends,
For our late night shenanigans,
For too many Snapchats of any thing and everything irrelevant or not,
The too many inside jokes,
The glances that cause us to break out into fits of laughter,
For the late night food runs,
For the tans, sunburns and endless bottles of Aloe we have emptied,
For the hikes, laughing at the tourists surrounding us,
For the face masks dreaming of the day without a speck of acne on our faces,
For the too early and too late Starbucks runs laughing too loud,
For eating too much for our own good,
The early morning runs that make us regret why we wanted to get up in the first place,
For the walks to nowhere that always make for the best memories,
Dreaming of the traveling the world one restaurant to the next,
Greece, Paris, Argentina, The Seven Wonders catch ya soon,

I live for him,
For our one too many movie days,
For him being the one who can place the biggest smile on my face even on the gloomiest days,
For our 5 year old selves that come out when together,
For the one person who truly gets me,
For being able to communicate without uttering a word,
For the shared Oreo milkshakes,
For the hour long lunch breaks during the summer,
For the endless hours of texting sharing our secrets to one another,
For the hope for a future together.

I live for myself,
I live for being good enough,
I live for the straight A’s,
I live for being able to survive through the AP courses,
I live for the smiles on my parent’s face,
I live for the too loud music,
I live for the too late nights when the rest of the world is asleep,
I live for my possibilities and the future that looms ahead of me.
