Falling
  A solitary leaf
  Flutters in the breeze
The wind pulling the frond from its perch
  With an uncanny ease
  Heaving a sigh of resignation
  The leaf reluctantly lets go,
  Dancing gracefully to the ground
Where it rests atop the snow
  The sky screams in frustration
Weeping tears of sorrow and grief
  For the bare, skeletal trees
  And the lonely, defeated leaf
  A moaning gust of wind
Sweeps the leaf up from the floor
  And carries it away
To new adventures that are in store
  The merciless wind
  Takes the leaf far away
To a place where the skies are neither cloudy nor gray
  The twinkling sun
  Slowly begins to arise
  Bringing warmth to the world
From its spot in the skies
  The wind picks up speed
  And the leaf waves goodbye
  To the twinkling sun
  In the velvety sky
Now the leaf lies back down
On its spot in the snow
Where it put up a fight
But then had to let go
  The sky screams in frustration
Weeping tears of sorrow and grief
  For the bare, skeletal trees
  And the lonely, defeated leaf
