This is Me
I am the nervous ninth grader roaming the rancid halls,
Scanning for a familiar face or someone to talk to.
I am the wandering eyes in class,
Daydreaming about everything.
I am the athletic fifteen year old,
A Center fielder, and a point guard.
I am the multiple injuries,
wreaking havoc on my body.
I am the teammate who's there for others.
I am the bag of sunflower seeds,
Hiding from my teammates.
I am the lost game that tears me apart.
I am the annoying big brother,
Wanting the best for my sisters.
I am the multiple garbage trips down my driveway.
I am the alarm system,
Watching over and protecting my family.
I am a pet owner,
A dog, and new cat.
I am the river of tears,
mourning the loss of my other cat.
I am the supple gray comforter,
hugging my bed.
I am the empty house,
waiting for someone to come home.
I am only one person
I am me, myself and I
And this is me.
