Ask me for a word
And I will say- there is the word -
Right in the question
In the questioning
Ask-
We ask our lungs to breathe
We ask our hearts to beat
Silently-
And we get a response in like
We ask the earth to bear fruit
We ask the skies for rain and thunder
Hands raised and mouths crying
We ask-
Desperate pleas
Or joyful queries
We ask-
Every second is a question
Every moment- a reply
We ask-
And the universe answers.
