Sewage
Starry eyed midnight figures
lurk in darkness at the feet of alley
cats, rough and unfed, but towering
strong and tall
proud, but lost-
looking for a way out through innocuous stares,
a foresight of fornication.
Public defamation
on public transportation
‘I am not sick’
Echoes in coughs and cries
through walls of hospitals and homes
schools ands streets,
where the lights flicker,
sometimes on
but mostly off
Crawling from the plumbing,
toxic, decomposing sewere rats-
All are subject to change.
Hidden away, beneath scratchy, stained motel sheets
is the answer.
Beneath the w****-
no good,
useless youth-
he calls her,
a monster in a monkey mask
leaves behind a bitter pain.
Climbing, crawling at the towering border,
nobody ever survives.
