I run and run
On the endless road
Of 100 sideways miles.
Sweat from my effort,
But I do not stop,
My mouth tasting vile.
If only people could know,
And could see what I see.
They'd realize that success
Is where I want to be.
I want to rest and take a break,
but give it one last shot.
With all the might that I can muster,
I push with all I've got.
Aches and exhaustion spread throughout
Every muscle and every bone.
The only thing I can think about
is that I am almost home.
The pain in my arms
And cramps in my calves
Only make me beam.
And I tenaciously continue chasing,
Chasing the running dream.
