Colors
When the sun has set,
When the colors in
The sky caress,
I watch in a daze
From my windowsill,
For I know you are
Away all the less.
You said it was to
Protect me,
To keep me out
Of harms way,
But what you do not
Realize
Is you are causing
All this pain.
We used to watch the sky
With all its blues and golds,
I used to feel so safe
Just watching the
World unfold.
Our hearts were so pure,
We thought we knew for sure,
But life tends to change courses
Until there is no cure.
The day you said goodbye
I thought that I could cry
But thinking back to all we had
I could only see the sky.
I now watch from my windowsill
The colors ever more,
I think of you as the colors fade,
Now you knock, knock on my door.

Someone I used to care about a lot inspired this poem. We used to watch the sky together and were so close, but it all disappeared one day. I hope that when people read this, they will appreciate the moments they have with a certain person whom they love.
