Change
If I had a penny for every time someone called me a name
Then I could cover every desk and chair with Abraham Lincoln’s face.
I wonder if he’d stick up for me.
If I had a nickel for every time I tried standing up for myself,
I wouldn’t have that many nickels.
Because I’ve tried once,
Shot to my face
Twice,
Shot to my body weight
Three times,
Shot to my brain size
Before I just stay down screaming
“What’s the point?!
I’ve already lost.”
If I had dime for every time I wished
That for once I wasn’t on the cool kid’s hit list
Then I could buy the wishing well myself.
And still afford a genie in a bottle
And maybe he could sit by me at lunch.
If I had a quarter for every time Dad said
“It’s going to be okay,
Someday
You’ll be so successful you’ll forget what those kids used to say.”
Then I’d call collect
To that future success
And see if some of it could visit me today.
Because I am not okay.
And if I had a dollar for every time I tried to tell you that, Mom,
Then I could own trump towers.
If I could pay your bills
Then would you pay attention to me?
Because I’m dying Mom!
If I had a certain amount of change
For every time I’ve felt this way
Then I’d have a lot of change
But I couldn’t change the world.

A friend of mine asked me to come up with a peom having to do with bullying and the victum's parents not helping the situation. This isn't my story, but is the story of SO many teenagers.
Be a friend, and not a bully.
