Twenty Thousand Times a Day
Love and change block my path,
I’m sad, I’m worthless,
I see other people living my dream–
The bitterness is worse than it may seem.
Because what about me?
I want to go on an adventure,
Live out my curiosities.
I hide my jealous face through a fake smile,
I carry my heavy heart with every mile,
I am determined, I don’t want to lose hope,
But there are no miles to go.
My dream just keeps flying away,
Twenty thousand times a day.
It’s unfair, it’s aggravating,
Knowing I cannot explore,
Staying on the ground floor
Let it go – you will not go.
But I’m angry, I’ve been cheated;
I finally went up,
But I’m never coming back down.
