Luminous
to be read by glasses and a british accent:
full of or shedding light; bright or shining,
especially in the dark.
a gull carcass
nibbled down to feathers
and the twilight bones.
silkworms reeling out their sorrows,
and stalactites drip drip dripping,
calcifying in the gloom.
kelp tangled through driftwood,
sweet and lost and lilting
like harp strings.
across oceans, bagpipes sing dirges
for the ghosts of dancers.
nights we swim in fields of lilies
till the roots gobble up our skin
and we fall punch-drunk
into hallucinations of the moon
when you slip your shirt
off milk-white shoulders
I forget if I have told you
lately (lightly) lovely
you are absolutely f***ing
luminous.
