Come here
little girl
beneath seahorse tails
and sailors’ bones
where stalactites
drip drip drip
in darkness

Come here
little girl
I have picked
constellations of grapes,
round-red and gleaming
eager to taste your tongue.

Come here
little girl
for figs, plump and swollen
dates and honey
and pomegranates who sang
Persephone down from the sun.

Come here
little girl
to endless twilight
let me caress
your white dress
soft like sea foam.

Come here
little girl
kiss my dripping maw
and trail your fingers
over the lily-white caverns
of my eyes.
