The Sun Will Rise Again
I wasn’t sure if there was hope,
but I chased and I chased,
now my lungs have failed
and my heart is broken
and I’m alone here in this darkness.
You unzipped my veins,
so now all I am is
a pile of shattered bones
and a diseased mind.
But I got up.
I sewed myself together
and I lifted myself from the dark.
But you’re there.
And I shake and I tremble
because I can never know.
I never know when you will regain your
strength and overpower me.
But now I have the power,
the power to push it down.
I can hide it, but no matter how
hard I try to hide the darkness,
when the light shines,
I can always see what you did.
