What Is
What is happiness?
Is it the memories that I wished we'd rewind to?
Is it the way the world seems to slow down?
Is it how we held hands wherever we went?
Or is the feeling when I'm with you?
What is love?
Is it the way you'd smile and stare into my eyes nonstop?
Is it the way butterflies get out of control in my stomach?
Is it the way we sat together talking about our future?
Or is it the feeling that I've found my other half?
What is pain?
Is it the way you came into my life yet left so fast?
Faster than my heartbeat when I'm with you?
Is it the way my eyes hurt after crying all night?
Or is it the feeling that I'll never be good enough?
What is emptiness?
Is it the time I felt the world was so dark?
Is it the way you took a part of me when you left?
Is it the way this place feels when you're gone?
Or is it the feeling that I just miss you so much?
So what is happiness? What is love? What is pain? You.
And what does that leave me? Empty.
