Hey you over there, good fellow

Now stop looking around like your mellow

Have you heard about the story

Of the fine Galileo


Well come here and let me say

The story about that wonderful day

You will enjoy this story, I’m sure

Now let me begin, if I may


This man had a lot of know

And he had plenty ways to show

But I will tell you of the event

That got him treated very low


It started with his thought

That he soon brought

Into the catholic church

That wasn’t very hot


He got this idea thru a scope

That gave him much hope

And though he had reliable facts of space

It was denied by the pope


Galileo said we moved around the light

But to the church, this did not sound so bright

They said we were in the center

And that the sun danced around us, causing day and night


As he tried, tried, and tried

The church thought it was a lie

And even though Galileo was persistent

They were still in deny


When the pope was done

And refused that Galileo had won

They put him in house arrest

Which certainly was not fun



After a while after being put in by toss

He soon made it into less of a loss

Galileo learned a lot of great things

And now a days, it was quite a good cause


When Galileo died, with his life having a rift

His apprentice escaped out the window with a lift

He took the precious knowledge

And shared it to the world as a marvelous gift



And that is why

That outstanding guy

Is known as a genious

And that is no lie
