She is a newly blank canvas
Each and every day,
Prepared for words she says,
Things she hears
Writes,
To be printed on her skin.
She is a partially black canvas
Prepared for the oodles of doodles
She draws to distract herself,
To distract herself from them,
From herself,
From her thoughts.
She is a dirty, used canvas
Ready to rid herself of the day’s pain,
Happiness,
And stress
Ready to scrub herself free
From the worries of the day.
She is a newly blank canvas
Ready for the next day’s work.
