The little Rabbit

Saw Robin trying

to find worms.

So she spent all morning looking

and brought her some.

The little rabbit

was going to find

carrots, but stopped to

flip turte on his feet

     and stayed to make sure

turtle was okay.

The little rabbit

knew fawn's mother

was very busy.

so she collected

     parts all day

and made fawn a home.

The little garden began

to grow cold.

Robin flew away,

turtle and fawn left,

frog and grasshopper burrowed

away and slept.

     The little rabbit was

left all alone, and got too cold.

The author's comments:

This is an allegorical poem I wrote, using Rabbit to symbolize someone who lives so entirely for others, that they forget to take care of themselves. I hope that this poem will help people understand the importance of moderation, and that taking care of one's self is not selfish, but a necessity.
