Favorite Quote:
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. -Mark Twain

When you start to think about your life

and compare it to another's,

you start to notice lots of things

you never had before.

That kitchen you have is plain and dull

compared to the neighbor's gourmet one.

Your kids were once perfect angels,

and now they're horrendous demons.

And your green lawn and bed of flowers

seems pretty dead compared to another's!

You see the fault,

you see the flaw,

you see what you thought was great

was not.

That is why,

in our minds,

everything's perfect

and the rest aren't as good.

Because if we didn't,

who knows what would happen.

Life would be miserable,

so don't compare!

Just a fun, slightly humorous poem inspired by Billy Collins that I wrote in class when we were learning about poetry (funny thing is, we weren't even assigned to write poetry)!
