out of the dark
When you're in the dark, you can't see what's around you, but you know it's there.
That's kind of the way people work too; even though you can't see what's wrong, you know something's off.
Some people drown you in light to find out, and some leave you in the dark, never to be discovered.
But people get used to the dark. Your eyes adjust if you've been there long enough, and they'll adjust to you.
Eventually things will get better, and start to lighten up; find your own light, or others can pull you into theirs.
