She was told
She was told to be sensitive
told to be kind
that's how you make friends that last through time
She wasn't told how her heart would break
when someone picks everything up and walks away
She she tried to make friends
find someone new
But it always felt as if they were playing a game
She just didn't know the rules to
She was told to trust, told to love
but repeatedly she was shattered and
left to question the validity of love
To everyone it seemed
She was a second option, a means to an end
when all she ever wanted was a real friend
She was told it was worth it, or that it would be
but she was just so very tired of
drowning in terrifying dreams
She learned how to be alone, that wasn't the problem
it was what happened to the demons in her head
when there was no one to help her fight them
Her mother told her to be strong
that she always had family
but she had mindcrushing sadness and
an unrepairable sanity
So dont be kind or sensitive
I plead
all people ever do is leave
