as I read down

something I knew I had to do

I turned around
and saw you laying
in your pink suit up front

and I saw
not my cousin
but a true author

someone who could change
the worst things
into beautiful things

soon I began
I wrote about you
only you

you helped me
begin the best part
of my life

by reading something
you wrote
I could now see

that what happens
in my mind
can be changed

into a beautiful work of art
