How Fast Time Flies
The soft whisper of wind,
Almost hidden in the air,
shows the first sign of Spring.
And everyone can hardly wait,
for warmth on their faces,
and extra hours of daylight.
And Spring turns to Summer,
With heat that’s practically unbearable,
but somehow pleasant after harsh Winters.
And the way the sun shines,
and people can’t help but smile,
and kids run barefoot in the grass.
Then Autumn comes around,
and the leaves change and fall,
and kids jump in the colorful piles.
And it’s not too cold yet,
and the leaves crunch under your feet,
as you walk to and from the bus stop.
Winter proceeds to come,
and the snow falls against the ground,
untouched and beautiful.
And the holidays are soon,
and kids and adults are giddy,
and the world feels right.
Yet Spring comes back,
like it does every year,
and you can’t help but reflect.
To how fast the seasons change,
fleeting moments of your life,
and see how fast time flies.

I wrote this piece based on the coming of spring, and how it felt like just a minute ago it was fall.
