September is the month that every student dreads.
It symbolizes the start of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every day for lunch.
According to the weather channel, it's supposed to be windy on the first day.
Feeling hopeless, I wonder how I am going to finish the summer book report by next week.

December is the month that every student looks forward to.
Christmas colored sugar cookies are now being sold at Jewel's.
Channel 7 is already informing everyone on the risks of icy roads.
Distracted, excited students count down the days until winter break.

April is the month that is accompanied by grey skies and restriction.
Spring break involves staying home and eating all of the junk food in the kitchen
while watching random movies that are played throughout the day.
Everyone's heart breaks at the fact that not going to school lasts only a week.

June is the month that is accompanied by sunshine and freedom.
Ice cream trucks are at every corner of my street.
According to the weather channel, a heat wave will soon be approaching us as school ends.
No one can wait until that final school bell rings.

The author's comments:

An assignment in our class was given to write a poem with four lines in each stanza. The first line was related to a month or season. The second line had to do with something about food. The third stanza had to do with television, and the fourth line had to do with a feeling.
