I will never forget it
That moment of disbelief
The horrible memory carved into my brain
That moment that everything changed
When I heard that the plane crashed
The plane my father was supposed to be on
I saw the burning, crumpled plane on the TV
I shut the TV off and ran into my room sobbing
I hadn't noticed the phone ringing
My mother picked it up and said, "Hello?"
Trying to hold back her tears
Then she heard my father's voice telling her
That he'd missed his flight
Because of traffic
My mother called me down and told me
I was still sobbing
But this time with tears of joy
My father was alive!
I couldn't believe it
Bad things can turn out to be good sometimes
