Tamed Beasts
Once
we were free,
we were wild
and innocent
and untamed little
beasts,
with dark bruises
climbing
up our legs,
and spindly scars,
making a map of memories
up our arms
Now,
now we are
whipped,
and we are pressured,
and we are shoved into cages,
as their voices scream
"If you aren't like us,
you are
Wrong"
But we keep fighting,
we will strain against
the ropes
tied around our wrists,
letting them
cut
into our skin,
Until they are stained the color of
The roses,
who's thorns once pierced our hands
