Saturday Mornings

April 24, 2015

Unworn slippers and crumpled bedsheets,
brewing coffee growling
and steam unfurling from ceramic mugs like
a kitten stretching slowly after
a nap.
The smell of sunshine
and grass dotted with crystal dew;
Wisps of hair and spider silk
suspended in the chilly air.
The scent of a lover's soft skin,
warm beside you.
Linen blouses fluttering in the lemon breeze
like lace curtains, thin
and gauzy.
The gentle hum of traffic and
muffled voices rising from
below.
A soft groan, a simple smile
half-hidden under duvet covers.
One more minute
Here
With
You
before the bed jolts,
surprised by the sudden movement of
a day
that just has
To begin.
