the best i know
The best I know
The guy who was the best
I’ll ever know
Was one who lives in my heart,
mind and soul.
He was the the one who made
me who I am
Short to me but not to others
Strong even after all the injuries
Long jet black hair flecked with
gray and white hairs
That always told his age
His tan was always dark
From welding all day
He didn’t make much money
He actually made very little
But it was enough for him
He had all he could ever want
Two children, a wife, a truck and
tons of guns
What more could a guy ask for
His life ended before his time
Like all good men
theres just never enough of them
on this planet
or enough time with them
Sometimes when i think back
i just want to yell in his face
you son of a b****
you said you’d be here till i graduated
but every time i think about it
it makes me remember
even if he didn’t see me graduate
or see my first girlfriend
even though i really wish he could
because of how amazing she is
i have to remember he died
because of what he liked to do
smoke
in the long run no matter what
he had done
as long as he left happy knowing
his family was safe
thats all that matters to me
