Love is worn out Term

There are many reasons why I don't believe in love.
It doesn’t have to do with a parents divorce
and it doesn’t involve my broken heart.

I grew up with my parents in love, and always happy.
And I know I see something between them,
but it’s not love.

I see an emotion between all happy couples,
but it is no longer love.

Love is a worn out term.

I have heard too many of my friends say they love me
then turn around
and talk s***.

I have heard too many couples say they love one another
then cheat
and lie.

And I know that’s not love.
I am tired of the cavalier use of the word love.
It used to mean something,
and now it has become a term for nearly anyone in your life.

I believe in a bond so strong that you can’t imagine ever hurting the other person,
that if you did it would hurt you,
and to see them happy,
its enough to make you happy,
but that definition is gone.

it has been replaced with BS i love you’s..
And one day,
I hope to earn a real, I Love you.
Genuine, not over text, not on the phone.
Face to face,
lips to lips.
