Favorite Quote:
"The scariest monsters are the one that lurk within our souls..." -Edgar A. Poe.

A warmth in the stomach, a gaze that won’t stop;
an internal clock slowing time, the rhythmic beat of a heart;
The gaze of another you favor won’t part, a welcome end of your life;
Legs cease to start, arms seem to fall apart, a feeling of helplessness envelopes you;
Yet the mythical gaze ends, and once more movement begins;
A sadness consumes you, the small shred of hope darts like a flash;
Oh how the idea of the grasp of the person you favor consumes you;
However no matter we stare, we’ll all dance around that person like a fair;
Crushing our bones, crushing our hearts, can we not simply hope for a spark;
A flame that will consume our bodies, persuade our hearts to stop;
Can we never find the love of the one who splits us apart?

The author's comments:

The poem is about having a crush on somebody and wishing internally to just allow them to know that you love them. Though it's quite a difficult obstacle to surmount indeed.
