A Dream of Courage
Be courageous and dream
Of the future, past, or present
Be proud and strive to
Make you dreams pleasant
But the thing about courage
Is it builds up over time,
Creating the clock
That tracks and chimes
Be a lion,
Roar loud and proud
Or be the eagle,
Soaring above the highest cloud
But the thing about courage
Is it may cause rocks and stones
To rise above the surface
And never leave you alone
Be the bird
That overpasses the sea of struggle
Put the fear beyond you
And rise above the trouble
But the thing about courage
Is it takes determination to
Let the fear trickle down
And crumble away from you
Shine as bright as the sun;
Replace the hiding moon
Push through the distress for
Your dream will not leave you soon
But the thing about courage
Is it may not always overrule
The fear could control you
And it would replace the most precious jewel
The dream may be
A galaxy far in the distance
Or a mile so close
Either way, it requires persistence
But the thing about dreams
Is it pushes and pulls, tugs and encourages
It guides you through
The endless path of courage
