Man, I miss Mexico.
I miss the dirt and the dust
I miss the sun and the heat
I miss building a house
I miss the good food I ate

I miss the friends that I made
And friendships grown stronger
I miss the walls coming down
I wish I’d stayed longer

I miss how tired I felt
From doing things right
I miss the campfire’s warmth
I miss the chapels each night

I miss living in tents
And not taking showers
I miss talking to kids
In those extra three hours

I miss magic Tecate.
But the work and the fun
Calls me back next year
My work isn’t done.
