Yesterday
Yesterday I saw a girl
with eyes of stormy gray
her hair was black, just like the night
she seemed to fade away
Yesterday I saw a girl
who’s light skin faintly gleamed
at first i thought she was pretty
but she’s the angriest i’ve seen
Yesterday i saw a girl
and i thought she was mad
but under all that toughness
she’s just innocent and sad
Yesterday I saw a girl
walking down the street
burdened with the world’s dull weight
her head hung in defeat
Yesterday I saw a girl
vulnerable, and pale
I almost opened my mouth to speak
but words just seemed to fail
Today I kind of saw the girl
she was on the news-i checked
she made herself a necklace
with a noose around her neck
