Directions
I thought you were a map
That would help me find my way
All you did was lead me astray
I ventured far from the path
Trying not to look back
I did though and saw the aftermath
My footsteps were filled with tears
From too many brokenhearted years
I felt defeated and filled with fear
This couldn't be my whole life
There had to be something more
Than the pain in my heart sticking out like a knife
I searched everywhere
Trying to find something better than despair
All I found was how the world could be so unfair
I cried myself to sleep at night
And during the day I was wide awake with fright
I decided to try changing directions
So I found a new trail
One that I knew would never fail.
