Lightning
The pitter patter of rain on the roof
Slowly gets more intense.
Its now raining quarters and dimes,
Sky flashes.
Blinding.
Overwhelming illumination...
Black again.
Steadily shaking everything in its path
Light is blinding,
Sky claps again,
Ground quietly rumbles.
The storm goes on for a few hours
As the lighting get less frequent.
Rain slowly dying out,
Then nothing...
Nothing at all
Like someone turned a switch
Nothing...
Yet something.
The tranquil aftermath,
Driving around with hundreds of trees down,
Branches littering the road
Trees falling on house
flooded basements
But yet so peaceful
Devastation
Mother Nature
Gentle yet so destructive
