Nights with him tamed under the tender glow of their bedroom lamp.
Days spent finding each other
in doodles and snippets of occasional poetry
while they spend time apart.
Cheesy phone calls eavesdropped on by envious colleagues
who quote them later in the break room.
Chinese take-outs enjoyed outside on the parquet floor,
under the sprawling empire of stars and galaxies
as they wish on a shooting star for an eternity together.
She let herself fall into this wild vortex of a man.
