Reuniting with her is more than seeing and old friend.

She is the other half of me I have spent years searching for.

We are not your typical fairytale couple.

I am not her princess and she is not my knight.

It is the kind some people wish to tear apart.

Manipulated, captured, but never broken.

We always come back better.

Stronger than you could ever imagine.

We are not sick, we are not abnormal, we are a conversation.

It is love beyond typical understanding.

Her fury mixed with my patience creates the perfect balance.

One day everyone will see it.

We are twice the woman anyone could ever be.

The author's comments:

This was inspired by a song from a children's show that introtuced a lesbian relationship. The song spoke about how the two were stronger than anyone and I thought it was really beautiful. I introduced a lot of the song's concepts into the poem with a different kind of voice.
