I keep the picture
Tucked away in my pocket
Because I'm so close to you
But I keep my eyes shielded away.
The creases
Reminds me of the flaws in our love.
The faded ink
Reminds me of the watered memories.
I keep this photo pressed against me
Because I can't deny what's evident
Because I can't deny what little hope we still have
Because it's cut painful scars into my heart.
