That's When I Knew
What started out as a blank space in my heart
Has now been filled with your name.
And rarely does my mind
Stray from thoughts of your bright crooked smile.
Not even the most breath-taking sunset
Or beautiful piece of art
Can come close to comparing
To the infinite galaxies I see in your eyes.
You set off a firework show inside of me
Every time your soft skin meets mine.
It’s as if my body is flooded
With colors more vibrant than the sky’s.
Some say that love can kill you,
And maybe it can,
But the moment our star-crossed paths met,
I knew there wasn’t a risk more worth taking.
Better to feel the fire and pain
That love may bring
Than to stroll through life
Feeling hardly anything.
