I Hop Out of dad’s truck.
Dad kills the engine and hops out with me.
He takes the lead as I follow behind him.
We each carry small gifts in each of our hands.
I approach the house,
It gleams in the darkness

The Christmas lights that surround the house year round,
Finally gleam in there season.
I follow dad through the path shoveled out of the snow.
Wind and snow had already filled up the path halfway.
We continued on toward the porch.

Once we get on the porch we brushed ourselves off.
After the last traces of snow are free from our coats.
I knock on the heavy wooden door.
One of our cousins opens the door and a wave of heat hits us.
Laughter can be heard and games being played.
I step inside and the Christmas games begin.
