Judgement
Remember when we were all friends,
No one had judgment and there was nothing to amend.
Together we danced and played,
No one was ever afraid.
We all smelled the same fresh air when we ran
To all of our mom’s minivans.
A purity about our soul that no one could take away.
We flew with the spirit of a blue jay.
Our parents described us as bursting, busy bees.
Little did they know, this was an ease.
When we fall down sometimes and scrape our knees
We all just wanted to feel that tight squeeze.
They hurt, but we get better.
And get back up to play only to receive a silent letter
My friends and I giggle and cry
As the cute boy walks by
We blush like little dolls cheeks that we play with as he looks in our direction
Turns out it wasn’t our perfection
It was the girl behind who won the affection
From this day forward we now knew judgment
For it was no longer your heart that matter but your face and complexion
