Masquerade
I do not see your faces, I see your masks.
I see not your eyes, only hollow empty holes.
We do not get special places, only the bottom of empty flasks.
Wither not like the rose, Grande colors and yet so small
Let not any flame set you alight, nor frost make an icy flame.
Just stay here and let your eyes close, as sweet dreams begin to fall.
Do not hide your face from me, set aside your task
Although my world is crumbling, with you I can stand proud
Strong for me you don’t have to be, let your heart slowly unmask.

I wrote this for everyone to know that no matter what mask we hide behind, someone can always see past them. We have no need to hide from what we fear.
