Skinny love

Eyes meet and I shift my glance to the floor.

Thumping veins and my orbs fleet back to the adored.

Self-consciousness pains when he's looking back.

Cold feet and flushed cheeks-and my heart is under attack.

Affections flurry as smiles are passed.

Intentions worry if this feeling will last.

Connections end when he looks away.

Directions turn; was I just simple prey?

He looks back at me after I had seen his betrayal.

Confused he wonders if he did not show a good portrayal.

In desperate attempts he sneaks closer.

Both we pray to know the others thoughts for closure.

Alas our eyes reconnect.

And our feelings are silently checked.

In unspoken agreement our hearts beat as one.

A love that would be known to none.

Not even to ourselves

when two people love each other but are too shy to admit it but they still show it.
