"Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and to be free from it." -Veronica Roth

Gentle slopes of the vineyard
Leafy greens draping the arbors
Plump grapes ready to drop

Our land is alive
The whole valley breathes and lives
On up to the distant mountains

You can lay down on the grassy swells
Press your face to the warm earth
and hear the heartbeat of the land

Warm sun and warm soil
The heartbeat filling the silence
A patient thud, thud, thud

The fruit of the trees tremble
With the gentle thumps
The beat rushing in your ears

Feel the heart of the valley
As you breathe with the land
Many hearts beating as one

I was inspired by reading the book Esperenza Rising this previous summer out in my yard. It was a bright day and I was laying in the grass. Everything just came to me with the powerful words from the book and the world around me.
